KEELING, Ora

Waynetown -- Ora Keeling, 78, died at 8 a.m. Monday at the Small Rest Home in Waynetown where he had been a patient since Friday. Mr. Keeling had been ill since being hurt in a fall on Dec 3. At that time he was living at the Wayne Hotel. Until Friday, he was a patient at Culver Hospital. A native of Fountain County, he was born Feb 15, 1885, the son of Dexter and Sarah Emeline Reichard Keeling. He was married to Stella Ellis, who preceded him in death May 27, 1937. Mr. Keeling was educated in the Wallace schools and had been a farmer in Fountain, Marion and Montgomery Counties. He attended the Freedom Baptist Church and was a member of the Jackson Township Farm Bureau. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Earl Harlow, Mooresville; a brother, Clifford Keeling, Waynetown, and two sisters, Mrs. Alta Fruits of High Point, NC and Mrs. Odessa Campbell, Orange Park, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Owen and William and 5 sisters, Mrs. Elvie Clore, Mrs. Louis Shular, Mrs. Gertie Sowers, Mrs. Augusta Keller and Msr. Murley Weaver. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Servies Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Alfred Dobbs of Veedersburg will be the officiating minister. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Mr. Keeling was a member of Ingersoll Chapel, which disbanded several years ago.
